| Read Our Blog Read Our Blog Blog Older Americans Month Client Spotlight: Deborah Jackson Jenna Holzberg May 13, 2014 Senior Services, Training, Workforce 1 National Able Network’s Illinois Senior Services Department could be very excited to focus on our wonderful Senior Community Service Employment Program participant, Deborah Jackson! Deborah got here to National Able Network in December of 2012 after being lately laid off from her Patient Care Technician job in DeKalb, Illinois, where she had worked at for almost 10 years. She enrolled in our Seniors Having Information For Tomorrow program where she attended Job Readiness Training (JRT) workshops. Deborah says that Able’s JRT workshops helped her discover ways to create a resume for this present job market, taught her how to promote herself and really feel extra comfortable and confident while going on interviews. For the past yr, Deborah has been concerned with Able’s Senior Community Service Employment Program where she developed her typing and laptop skil ls. Deborah is at present working towards completing her Certification in Medical Assisting and her targets are to safe employment as a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician in a hospital or in-house care environment. She is keen about this work because she feels strongly that the aged should be able to age comfortably in their properties, helping them to maintain their sense of independence and self-respect. Deborah enjoys spending time together with her shoppers and promoting healthy actions by aiding with their use or motor expertise, conversing with them about present events or taking them out on social outings.
