How to Crush Your First Day at a New Job Congratulations, youâre hired! Now you are getting ready for your first day of work. The first day is always a bit hectic. You are filled with a million different emotions and you want to ensure that you are prepared, make a good impression on your new boss and start the day off right.What You Will NeedYou want to make sure you have all the materials necessary for your first day. This includes a pen, paper, lunch, a bottle of water, USB stick, cash for vending machine or bring snacks with you and anything that your employer asked you to bring with you.Getting ReadyYou want to make sure you get 8 hours of sleep the night before. A good nightâs sleep is key to a productive first day! Wake up nice and early. Give yourself a couple of hours to get ready and still be able to leave early enough to get to work a bit early. Eat a good breakfast, This will help you to feel more energetic throughout the day. Check the weather! This is important to avoid any weather-related clothing disaste rs and potential delays in your commute. Wash and get dressed. You are ready to go!When to ArriveYour first day itâs important to get to work a bit early to get yourself acclimated with your new work environment and the people you will be working with.
